Eva – I didn’t know who Jesus Christ was

I first heard about God and Jesus Christ as described in the Bible in 1993. Until then, I hadn't thought about Him at all; I had children, a husband, and that was the fulfillment of my life.

We learned about the truth in the Bible from our acquaintances who returned from Australia after many years. They became believers there and wanted to share it with people in Czech. We had many discussions about the Bible with them, and they showed us all the answers to our questions straight from the scriptures.

I had never read the Bible before, and I thought Jesus Christ was a mythical figure which was not real. But over time, as I came to know the Word of God more and more, I realised that Jesus Christ really lived. I started learning about the message He left us, that man should repent of his sins and be born again of water and of the Spirit. We are born of water in baptism by full immersion and of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

At that time, we were invited to an international meeting of brothers and sisters from the Revival Fellowship church in Hungary. There, my husband and I were baptized by full immersion in water in a lake.

Two months later, while I was praying at home, I repented, and asked God to fill me with His Spirit. God heard me, and I spoke in tongues, as described in the Bible; I was truly filled with the Holy Spirit. I was happy to know that God had chosen and sealed me. At that moment, my journey with God began. All of a sudden, I began to understand far more about what was written in the Bible, and the depth of the scriptures. I can pray for anything in the Holy Spirit and I know that God hears me.

God healed me of my shyness to speak to strangers and gave me courage and self-confidence. Now, I can boldly proclaim the word of God to people on the street, which I would not have been able to do before.

Many times, God has delivered me from headaches after prayer, and also from a long-term pain behind the eye, and many other ailments. I used to work as a nurse and had many opportunities to preach the Word of God to people and pray with them for healing and help in various situations.

I thank God that I can see His help in my life, and that other people can also see and know God's power and strength in their lives. God has blessed my whole family, because our 3 children also believed in God, and are baptized by full immersion in water and filled with the Holy Spirit. They all married partners from our church. It is a great blessing to now raise our grandchildren in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

I give great thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ and God for all that I have in this life.
