God has been in my life since I was a young child. Before I was born in Australia, my grandmother got born again and her life changed dramatically, from very sick to healthy and happy. After some time, my parents saw the miraculous changes in her life and left their old church where there were no miracles. They got born again themselves, and have been attending the Revival Fellowship and seeing signs, wonders and miracles ever since.
I grew up knowing that we could pray to God when I was sick and that He would hear us. When I was around 10 years old, I began to pray to receive the Holy Spirit, so that I could also become a child of God. One day, I listened to a Bible class lesson about heaven and hell, and I was completely convicted that I need to repent, be born again of water (through baptism) and of the Spirit (through the infilling of the Holy Spirit), as it says in Acts 2:38. I prayed earnestly, and God filled me with the Holy Spirit. I knew because I spoke in tongues, exactly as it happened in Bible days – see Acts 2:4. I was so happy and got baptised by full immersion at the beach the following day. This is where my personal walk with God really began.
Throughout school, I needed to choose whether to please God or to follow my unbelieving school friends. God always supported me, and as I grew up, I really enjoyed talking to many students and teachers about Him. I never desired to try smoking, drinking alcohol, drugs or partying, or even swearing.
In my second year of university, I got tonsillitis, followed by glandular fever. My doctor confirmed the illness through blood tests and told me that I would need to take a lot of time off from my studies. That weekend, I prayed with the true belief that God would heal me, and He did! I never received any symptoms at all, just a cold! The following week, the doctor tested me and said that this was the fastest recovery from glandular fever that he’d ever seen.
Shortly afterwards, I was privileged to visit our fellowships in Papua New Guinea several times. I witnessed amazing miracles, such as the blind seeing, the lame walking, and the dumb speaking! It really confirmed that God’s Word was living today, the same as over 2000 years ago.
Life continued with many surprises, including getting married and moving to the Czech Republic. The Lord blessed us with 2 children who we are able to bring up through God’s wise principles.
In 2017, I found out that I had breast cancer. One of my favourite scriptures has always been Isaiah 41:13,
“For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
Throughout my chemotherapy treatment, God really did hold me in His hand, and I didn’t experience any side effects at all! My spiritual family around the world prayed for me and sent me encouraging words and scriptures. The tumor disappeared after treatment, and I praise the Lord that I didn’t need radiotherapy, as was originally planned.
